During a recent stunt with Elle Magazine, South African-born singer Tyla took part in the outlet's Phoning It In segment on YouTube.

In the clip that has gone viral on social media, the 'Water' singer picks up the phone to prank her mother, Sharleen Seethal.

"I'm going to call my mom, but my mom never answers the phone," Tyla said before carrying out the prank.

Luckily, her mom answered the phone, and the prank was underway.

After her mom answered the phone, Tyla asked her to move to a different area "and don't tell dad".

Once her mom had moved, she quickly asked the singer, "What's wrong? Tyla!?"

The 22-year-old singer hesitated for a few moments before saying, "Ma, I think I'm pregnant."

To the singer's surprise, her mom didn't react negatively or surprised but rather celebrated the news.

"I'm happy," replied Seethal before revealing that she had long suspected her daughter might be pregnant.

"I had premonitions… just yesterday," she revealed.

Tyla eventually budged and told her mom that it was only a prank she had done with Elle Magazine.

"Tyla, but I had the premonition," she said, sounding weirdly disappointed.

"I spoke to auntie Mila and, I said to her I need grandchildren."
