"We cannot rely on the ones who are supposed to protect us’"- Liesl Laurie after teen's death in Eldorado Park

The Eldorado Park community took to the streets to protest the death of a 16-year boy, allegedly at the hands of police.
Liesl Laurie, who grew up in Eldorado Park, said: "It just breaks my heart. We shouldn’t still fear anything in the area.”
The teen was allegedly shot and killed by police on Wednesday night, but the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear.
Police spokesperson Mathapelo Peters says public order police have been deployed to the area.

According to JacaNews, the police are calling for calm and restraint as this matter has now been reported to the IPID for investigation.
Community member Rochelle van Wyk joined Breakfast with Martin Bester on Friday.

"What we heard from Nathaniel’s dad is that he was eating a biscuit and it turned out for the worst," van Wyk says.
"The community is enraged after the senseless killing."
