Austin, an American living in South Africa, recently posted a clip sharing what he calls his "Texan Afrikaans".

In the video, he imagines what it would be like if a Texan moved to South Africa and learnt to speak Afrikaans.

The result? A fascinating, and slightly disorienting, mix of Afrikaans with a thick country twang.
