In the video, Faltein starts off by talking about a bag of guavadillas her daughter's colleague gave the family.
Wondering exactly what guavadillas are, Martin Bester asked the TikTok sensation to explain.
This is what she said:
After digging a little bit more to find out exactly what it is, this is what we found.
According to Mountain Herbs Estate, a guavadilla is a uniquely South African name for a yellow granadilla/passion fruit, which is most commonly purple.
In most other countries, it is called a yellow passion fruit and is often believed to have a superior flavour to the normal purple passion fruit.

Guavadillas can, just like ordinary passion fruit, be eaten fresh, or their juice can be added to other fruit juices.
It is also often used as toppings for cakes and tarts and also processed into flavoured yoghurt and soft drinks such as Schweppes Sparkling Granadilla and other cordial drinks.
Breakfast with Martin Bester recently discovered a viral TikTok video of Valda 'Mama Bear' Faltein reacting to her daughter's request for R800 for a Tinder Gold subscription.
The video left South Africans in stitches following Mama Bear's hilarious reaction to what she deemed an outrageous request.
