This is what a South African Police Officer earns annually

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has published its annual report for the period 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020.
In the annual report, Minister of Police Bheki Cele says the South African Police Service is duty-bound to collaborate with other government departments and with all sectors of society in the quest to reduce the levels of serious and violent crime.
The Ministry of Police has demonstrated its unwavering commitment in achieving the government’s strategic objectives and will continue to support the SAPS in its implementation of these objectives.
Salaries within the police force average depending on the skill level – this ranges from R250,000 per annum for skill level 1 – 2. That is R20,833 per month.

Senior Managers and Executive Employees (level 13 – 16) salaries can reach R408,000, averaging around R34,000 per month.
