Je'an du Preez was injured in the accident that killed his close friend André Pielh. Breakfast with Martin Bester spoke to Ilinda du Preez to hear how he is currently doing.
André Piehl, a cyclist and SA champion triathlete, was killed by an alleged drunk driver on the R512 near Lanseria on Saturday.
Piehl, who was riding his bike with fellow cyclist Je’an du Preez, died after he was struck by a Porsche SUV.

Piehl died at the scene while Du Preez was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
Du Preez is currently still in hospital.
The suspect has been identified as Kabelo Nyatlo (30) and appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of culpable homicide.

According to Jacaranda FM News, the matter was postponed to May 18 for further investigation.
He was ordered to report to the prosecutors' office when and if he wants to leave the province.
Breakfast with Martin Bester spoke to Ilinda du Preez, wife of Je'an du Preez, to hear how he is currently doing.

"It's going better with Je'an. He is still in a critical condition but he is talking.
"I told him about André, but he still can't remember everything."
According to the doctors, in the long term, he will get better but it will take time.
