Woman shares her harrowing Cape Town fires experience with Martin Bester

The woman’s car burnt down on Sunday.
The blaze gutted a section of the Rhodes Memorial Restaurant and quickly spread to adjacent areas.
According to Jacaranda FM News, The University of Cape Town (UCT) has given assurance that measures are in place to assist students affected by the fire on the Rondebosch campus on Sunday. Historical artefacts and documents were also lost when flames engulfed the Jagger library.

A woman who parked her car close to a restaurant that caught fire spoke to Martin Bester about her experience. She parked her vehicle and went on a walk, a few minutes afterwards she heard a loud 'bang!'
The university has suspended all academic activities for Monday and Tuesday. The public has been asked to donate any essential items and food.
