AI technology imagines what countries would look like as women

Can AI truly paint an accurate picture of an entire country?

Twitter user @cryptotea_, who is also an NFT artist, decided to use AI technology to create portraits of countries but not just any portraits.

AI has become a hot topic in recent years and even more so in 2023, where artificially-generated art has become quite a controversial talking point.

While the pros and cons list can probably go on for days, some people are using the tools at their disposal for some innocent fun.

Twitter user @cryptotea_, who is also an NFT artist, decided to use AI technology to create portraits of countries.

But not just any portraits.

She wanted the system to use the information it has on different countries to create portraits of women who represent those countries. 

Alex, 20, told Buzzfeed: "I wanted to put AI to the test and see if it could not only pick up features of different people around the world, but also cultures — which it did (i.e. the cowboy hat for a woman imagined as the US)."

The results are in and they are pretty spectacular:

While the future of AI and its different applications still remains a grey area, it clearly has the potential to eventually play a major role in various industries and in our daily lives.
