What is the one thing the 'Barbie' world can never have enough of?
When you think of the world's most iconic dolls, there are a few things that instantly pop into your mind.
The first probably being this catchy tune:
And then, of course, you will think of all the famous dolls and the colour pink.

These dolls have been a part of many generations' childhoods and that's why there is an extreme sense of excitement for the release of the highly anticipated 'Barbie' movie, which stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the main Barbie and Ken characters.
While it might seem like everything we see and hear on social media is Barbie-related, it turns out that the production of the movie has caused a shortage of one very specific thing worldwide: pink paint.

Greta Gerwig had told the film's production designer, Sarah Greenwood, that she wanted the movie set to be reminiscent of the old school Barbie days, so the designer set out to create just that - and she needed a lot of pink!
According to an interview with Architectural Digest, the production purchased their paint from a supplier that specialises in paint for film and theatre productions, and they needed so much that there was a global shortage of the colour Fluorescent Pink.

A company representative even confirmed this:
The sets were being designed and built during a time of global supply chain issues. But we delivered everything we could; they got it all.- Rosco representative
