In 1990, a film called 'Home Alone' was released.

Little did anyone know what a festive season institution this movie would become or how it would rocket its lead actor, Macaulay Culkin, into fame.

Now you will barely get through the Christmas season without someone mentioning the movie.

One key part of the film, which has been joked about many times, is the house.

A common joke is how Kevin's dad managed to afford a house like that.

Seeing as Kevin is left home alone, he gets to do whatever he wants with no consequences and he can break all the house rules.

However, things turn when two bad guys want to break in.

Kevin then decides to cover the house with various booby traps for the villains.

If there's one thing viewers see quite a lot in the movie, it's the house, and many fans would most likely want to visit this home.

In 2024, the iconic 'Home Alone' home went on sale for $5,25-million (a massive R94-million) and the sale is currently pending.

On the Redfin website where the house is listed, the description reads: "A legendary holiday dream home, reimagined for modern-day luxury: The stately brick Georgian residence of 'Home Alone' fame brings forward a rare opportunity to own one of the most iconic movie residences in American pop culture."

The property was built in 1921 but renovated and expanded in 2018. The current owners note that they have done their best to maintain the iconic home's structural integrity.

The home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, three garages, a movie theatre, two laundry rooms, and an inside basketball court.

Fans of the movie who have discovered the listing are shocked to see what the inside of the home looks like compared to the film.
