There are many classic films, such as 'Home Alone' and 'Elf', but there are also Hallmark movies that have become popular for their own reasons.
Many film critics might not include 'The Holiday' on their top 10 lists, although it has become somewhat of a favourite.
The movie follows the lives of two women who want to spend their Christmas holiday as far away from their homes as possible and they decide to exchange houses for the holidays.
One home is situated in sunny LA, while the other is a cozy cottage in the English countryside.

Film director Nancy Meyers is also well-known for her work on 'Something's Gotta Give' and 'What Women Want', so it's no surprise that her Christmas movie is a rom-com wonder.
With a stellar cast featuring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jack Black, and Jude Law, the movie ticks all the boxes.

Now, more than 15 years later, the film is still referenced, and many people still dream of escaping to a snow-covered cottage in England where they will meet the love of their life.
Or at least Airbnb it for a while and pretend.
Unfortunately, there might be a slight problem with that plan.
The cottage that people dream of doesn't even exist.

Many had the same hopes of experiencing it one day and are now devastated.
A few people commented that it is actually nice to know it doesn't exist because that makes it more magical, and the more positive twist is appreciated.
