On November 16, Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, was crowned Miss Universe 2024 at the 73rd Miss Universe Competition in Mexico City.
Theilvig made history by becoming the first Danish contestant ever to be crowned Miss Universe.

The 21-year-old managed to snatch the crown after competing against 120 other contestants and finally accepted her crown from the previous Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.

In celebration of the new Miss Universe, here are five interesting facts about her:
1. She's a professional dancer
Theilvig is a dance teacher and former professional dancer who has competed at prestigious events like the European and World Championships.
2. She would like to study law at Harvard
The newly-crowned Miss Universe 2024 holds a bachelor's degree in business and marketing and works in the jewellery industry, specialising in diamond sales. Her ultimate goal? To pursue a law degree at Harvard University, as reported by NDTV.
3. Her dream of becoming a pageant queen started very early in life
Theilvig's passion for pageantry started at the early age of five when she was inspired by watching international competitions like Miss Universe. Her childhood dream has come true over a decade later as she now wears the crown.

4. Her pageant journey began at 17
The Danish beauty made her pageant debut at 17, placing as second runner-up at Miss Denmark. By 19, she represented Denmark at Miss Grand International, securing a spot in the Top 20. In 2024, Theilvig was crowned Miss Universe Denmark before winning the international title.
5. She's an animal rights activist
At just 21, Theilvig is not only a beauty queen but also an animal rights advocate. She volunteers at a Danish animal shelter and champions small actions, like raising awareness and showing kindness to animals. In her words, "Every small action counts," as shared by the Animal Kingdom Foundation.
