WATCH: George building collapse survivor thanks rescue teams

The 13th of May marks one week since the George building collapsed.
Tragedy struck when an apartment block that was under construction in George came crashing down.

A crew of 81 people were on the site and rescue teams have been working tirelessly to find the 26 people who are still unaccounted for.
The current death toll is 30 at the time of publishing and there has only been one survivor rescued from the collapse.
According to eNCA, Mr Gabriel Guambe is the only survivor who has been pulled from the wreckage and the 33-year-old has thanked all responders for their efforts.

In a TikTok video posted by the Geroge Herald page, Guambe gives an update on how he is doing and continuously thanks the teams that rescued him.

Mr Guambe sustained minor injuries and is still recovering in hospital.
He has also encouraged the teams involved to keep up the incredible work that they are doing in trying to rescue and recover more people.
