Well, there is good news: Singles' Day is celebrated twice a year, once on February 13 and the other on November 11.

According to Marca, Singles' Day originated in China at Nanjing University to celebrate single people.

The day was reportedly created in 1993 with the aim of reducing the stress around social issues, mainly about marriage.

All around the world, there is a lot of pressure to be in a relationship or even get married.

Many people feel this societal pressure to continue their lineage or fulfil specific social expectations of being in a relationship.

Singles' Day seeks to relieve this societal pressure and reduce sadness around being single.

This peculiar celebration is also known as Double 11 (November 11) and has reportedly become a sort of Black Friday in China.

Another day, Single Awareness Day, is also celebrated on February 15 in countries like England, Canada and the United States.
