Hollywood star "heartbroken" watching house burn on live TV
Updated | By The Drive with Rob and Roz
A growing number of blazes have been raging through Los Angeles, leaving chaos and devastation in its wake.
While Hollywood is known for its glitz and glam, the area has become a ghost town as over 100,000 people have been told to flee.

At least five separate blazes have damaged the City of Angels, with flames barreling down on the heart of historic Hollywood Boulevard, home to many storied theatres.
According to AFP and Jacaranda FM News, one fire covering 10,600-acres (4,300-hectare) was burning around Altadena, north of the city, tearing through suburban streets.
In the glamourous Pacific Palisades neighbourhood, 1,000 homes and businesses were razed as a 160 km/h wind spread the fire.

Thousands of people have been displaced and have had to watch as their homes burned down to nothing.
One celeb who was left "heartbroken beyond words" as they watched the scenes unfold was entrepreneur and socialite Paris Hilton.
Hilton posted a video of a news report on Instagram and wrote in the caption that she was watching her house burn down in real-time.

While affording to buy a new house might not be her most significant concern, Hilton shared some fond memories of that home, many of which included her children.
She also shared that the team at her non-profit organisation, 11:11 Media Impact, had been contacting NPOs to help and support communities affected by these fires.
We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most. To the brave firefighters and first responders risking their lives to protect us—you are true heroes. I am so grateful for your courage, dedication, and the incredible sacrifices you’re making to save lives and fight this unimaginable battle. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.🙏 Please, everyone, stay safe and follow evacuation orders. Let’s protect one another and hold onto hope that these fires will soon be contained.🙏- Paris Hilton

Communities have been coming together and have been using social media to spread awareness and share information about resources for those affected by the fires, or those who want to assist in any way possible.
President Biden has also addressed the situation:
We're doing anything and everything, and as long as it takes to contain these fires.- President Biden
