Throughout the years, many social media platforms have been accused of "stealing" from one another.
Apps are continuously trying to develop interesting, interactive and fun features for their users.
Most recently, Instagram announced that they've started rolling out a feature called Blend.

The new feature is only available in certain countries at the moment.
Blend lets you and your friends create a unique feed of Instagram Reels based on content suggested for each participant. To invite your friends to start a blend, tap Blend at the top of an Instagram chat.
Blends are a feature within your chats on Instagram, allowing you to invite either a single user (in a one-on-one chat) or a group of people (in a group chat) to "blend".

Once invitations are accepted, your chat's Blend is created and updated daily with fresh content based on the activities of all participants.
Reels within the Blend will be tagged with the names of the individuals for whom they were suggested.
Participants will also get notifications whenever new content is added to the Blend.

While this is an interesting turn for Instagram, Spotify introduced a very similar concept in 2021.
It is also called Blend.
We launched Blend Playlists in beta in early June as a new way for two users to merge their musical tastes into one shared playlist made just for them, making it even easier for users to connect, discover, and bond over the music they love with one another.- Spotify
While the two apps serve significantly different purposes, people have noticed similarities.
Users are also not too convinced about the Instagram version yet because content sharing has become such a big part of interacting online.
If you can't spam your friends or family with memes, then what can you do?
