Since social media's popularity rose, its negative impact has been questioned and debated many times.

There is no doubt that for every good aspect of social media, there is a bad side.

While it makes it easier to connect with people, it can also be a source of cyberbullying and affect an individual's mental health negatively.

That's why Instagram's new feature is causing a stir.

The company has confirmed that they are testing out a new button that users can use to downvote or dislike comments.

This feature is set to appear on reels and feed posts.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri shared some insight on the update on Threads:

While Reddit has used the exact mechanism for years, Instagram users are less accepting of this new feature than Meta might have hoped.
