In the decades since then, he has remained very successful in the music industry and has also become somewhat of a social media star.

He has accepted that, as a popular musician, he will have to deal with haters and chooses a comedic approach.

For the anniversary of his debut album, 'Back To Bedlam', Blunt challenged fans, trolls, and anyone who wanted to change his life forever.

At the start of October 2024, he posted a video on his social media where he explained what he would like to do to celebrate the birthday of 'Back To Bedlam'.

In the video, Blunt is sitting in a chair as he says he wants to give his fans, and possibly haters, the chance to ruin his life.

Although Blunt no longer had to change his name legally, he still had fun with it.

In a recent post, he shared a picture of his new driver's licence with the top-voted name, Divock Origi.

Divock Origi is an ex-Liverpool player who had some iconic moments while on the team.

While it might have been all fun and games for the most part, Blunt also thanked everyone for their support:

Fans also joked around in the comments, as one person said: "Now go and score a last minute winner against Everton!"

Luckily, or unluckily, James Blunt can continue to use his original name.
