Impress your braai guests with this delicious BBQ sauce!
Gareth Daniell started Braai Boy in April 2009 when it began as a simple dare.

Since then he has been braai-ing every single day.
We invited Braai Boy to join us in studio to settle a little debate.
Which is better: a SA braai or an American barbecue?
He also kindly shared with us a recipe for his favourite and much-loved sauce and marinade:
Recipe
Ingredients
- 1.5 cup Tomato Sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
- 1.5 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Add everything to a pot and bring it to a simmer for about 10 minutes.
Tweaks:
- Try using honey or maple syrup instead of brown sugar... or even Molasses.
- Balsamic can be substituted with Apple Cider Vinegar.
- Try substituting some Worcestershire with soy sauce.
Other Tips:
- Add your favourite chilli powder (or regular cayenne) for a bit of heat.
- Add more brown sugar/honey/molasses for a sweeter sauce.
- Add more vinegar for a tangier sauce.
- If the sauce is too thick for your liking, add a little water... or to thicken the sauce, add a little cornstarch slurry.
