The shoes they put on sale were sneakers that already appeared to have been worn.

Usually, when one buys a pair of shoes, or any clothing for that matter, you want it to be new, clean, and well-made.
Even if you were thrifting, you wouldn't buy a piece of clothing that was falling apart.

Balenciaga decided to create shoes that looked like they had been worn every day for 40 years, extremely distressed and worn out.
What really upset people was the R33,000 price tag.

Two years later the trend is starting to show its head again to the befuddlement of Rob Forbes and Rozanne McKenzie.
The Drive team are utterly confused by this style and wants to test a theory.
