Why are gamers still getting a bad reputation?
The global gaming industry is a billion-dollar business.

According to Statista: "In 2022, the revenue from the worldwide gaming market was estimated at almost 347 billion U.S. dollars, with the mobile gaming market generating an estimated 248 billion U.S. dollars of the total."
Gaming has gone through many phases and has continued to grow, and isn't showing any signs of slowing down.
But something that has long been connected to the gaming community is unfair stereotypes and judgement.

People tend to not mind when kids enjoy playing Playstation, Xbox or computer games, but there seems to be a "cut-off age" where it is no longer "appropriate" for people to enjoy spending their time in this way.
In 2023, the Drive team spoke to Sam 'Tech Girl' Wright about eSports and whether gaming is a viable career path.
As a team that is supportive of this industry, they wanted to take the conversation further and find out if older Jacaranda FM listeners enjoy this pastime.
