Every job requires a certain amount of work and you usually won't find yourself doing nothing for eight hours.
But what if there was a simple job where you could earn millions a year and work abroad?
Well, this might just be the job for you!
The famous and historic city of Venice is looking for gondoliers.

There are currently 433 gondoliers operating in their boats along the waterways of the city.
Venice has employed gondoliers since 1094, and it has always been one of the city's main modes of transport.
According to The Guardian, the Venice Gondoliers Association is now looking for more people to join the trade.
The application process is also not as crazy as you might think.
Applicants must be over 18 years old, have a high school education, know how to swim, and have a medical certificate that proves they have “a healthy and robust constitution".
After the first round, there is more work to be done, as any person hoping to row passengers through the city's narrow canals will have to take a training course called, 'Arte del Gondoliere' (Art of the Gondolier).

You are only eligible if you can row or show that you can develop this skill.
The training process then continues with 30 hours of theory lessons, during which they learn English and French, study the history, art, and culture of Venice, and learn the gondoliers' version of traffic codes.
This is followed by 10 hours of practical training under the guidance of a master gondolier.

If you are willing enough to go through this process, you can earn up to $150,000 (around R2.5-million) a year.
There is definitely not a lack of tourism to the city but they are finding it difficult to fill these positions:
There’s a generational change: people retire and need to be replaced. So we do the training courses whenever there is a necessity. People who apply themselves to this profession do so because they are in love with Venice and are convinced that they are bringing forward the traditions of the gondola and the city.- Andrea Balbi (President of Venice’s gondoliers’ association)
