People Magazine has released its list of the sexiest men for 2023 and the winner might surprise you.
He is best known for playing the role of "McDreamy" (aka Derek Shepherd) on the hit series 'Grey's Anatomy' for over two decades, the one and only Patrick Dempsey.

During his stint on the show, he has graced almost every magazine cover, but now he can finally say that he has received the Sexiest Man Alive crown as well.
Upon hearing the news, the actor couldn't believe it:
I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right? I’ve always been the bridesmaid! I’d completely forgotten about it and never even contemplated being in this position. So my ego is good.

Well, it only seems fitting that a man playing the role of a dreamy doctor receives some real-life recognition.
And fans all around the world will agree that Dempsey is very deserving of the title as the silver fox heartthrob has stolen hearts over the years.
The 57-year-old is happy for his new title but also used this opportunity to promote the Dempsey Center, which supports cancer patients and their loved ones, and was founded in honour of his late mother.
I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life. It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive.
Unfortunately for any singletons out there hoping to have their own romcom moment with Dempsey, he is off the market and has been for some time.
He's happily married to Jillian, a make-up artist, and the couple has three kids, Talula and twins Sullivan and Darby, who are expected to tease him about his Sexiest Man Alive title for some time.
