One of their most luxurious cars, the G-class SUV, is often a dream car for many but is not easily attainable.
According to various sources, the rumours are true, and Mercedes-Benz has confirmed they will be releasing a smaller "baby" version of the G-Class, aka the G-Wagen.

The announcement was made as part of an investor-relations presentation and also forms part of the brand's expansion into electric vehicles.
Many of the car's details remain a mystery, but it will be smaller and most likely electrical.
While boxy and retro SUVs have become more prevalent in recent years, Mercedes-Benz's introduction of the more affordable G-Wagen will allow it to expand into this market.

As mentioned above, Mercedes also confirmed plans to drastically change its design language and will take a somewhat similar approach to BMW.
Their current strategy only includes combustion and EV models, but they want to expand and include models that offer internal combustion, hybrid, and battery-electric powertrain options.
The first is the upcoming CLA-class.
A new G-Wagen model will cost you around R2,7-million, whereas the 'baby' version will possibly retail for just over R1-million and should be available in 2026.
