Man tells family they're too large to fly in private plane

Social media users are showing support for the man who had to make this tough call.
No matter how polite one tries to be, when matters of life and death are concerned, politeness won't save lives.

And when you have a job to do that requires you to follow the rules, things can also become a bit harder to navigate.
One Reddit poster recently went on to the popular Reddit thread AITA (Am I The A**hole) to post about a dilemma he had experienced at work.

He starts by stating that he works as an aviation mechanic but also likes to go flying in his sailplane.
After offering to take some family members for a ride in the plane, he encountered a serious issue.
He had invited some family members onboard which led to one of his cousins and her kids showing up and requesting a flight.

According to him, the family have an obesity problem and he was honest with them about the fact that they could be unfit to fly.

While most people would argue that no one should be discriminated against for their weight, one can definitely understand why he had to take precautions.
After asking the online forum whether or not he was in the wrong, it was clear that other Reddit users could see his point and confirmed that he is NTA:

Usually, when someone starts a sentence with "no offence but...", you know they're probably going to say something offensive, where in this case, the pilot was just trying to be safe. Can you really blame him for that?
