Taking to social media to break the news to their fans, the brand mentioned that there was a very specific and quite serious reason for the end of this era:
It’s hard to say goodbye to delicious Hellmann’s mayonnaise 🥪 🥗 But, due to high inflationary import costs, we will regretfully be discontinuing Hellmann’s until further notice. A big thanks to our loyal fans for all the mayo love over the years 💙 pic.twitter.com/QC0b0mw3SV

While mayo-fiends might be upset right now, and rightfully so, there could be light at the end of the tunnel, as they did mention that it is only "until further notice".
Hopefully that means that Hellmann's purists can expect the brand to be back in action in the future.
Until then, it's time to find a replacement.
