When using Yoh Vote, the user will "date" political parties in order to find the best match that aligns with the user's political views.
The information about the various parties on the app was sourced from their most recent manifestos and websites and when users want to "take it further" with any of these parties, they will be directed to their sites.
A lot of politics can seem quite inaccessible, there's lots of jargon and terms in the manifesto. This leaves many young people feeling like they don’t have the tools to enter the debate. There is this idea that young people don’t really care or they disengage, but I think the response to Yoh Vote shows that people are hungry for information about politics. It's just to get people thinking about 'where do I stand with on these issues and what are the topical issues'.- Ryan Young (co-founders of Yoh Vote)
Here is a look at the bios for the political party profiles on the app:
The platform is also non-partisan, meaning they do not support any particular party.
What an innovative way to help people get political!
