In 2024, the movie scene was dominated by 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' and the awards season was a close competition between critically acclaimed movies.
'Oppenheimer' walked away with the award for 'Best Picture', as well as for 'Actor in a Leading Role' (Cillian Murphy) and 'Actor in a Supporting Role' (Robert Downey Jr), just to name a few.

2025 felt less so.
This year, viewers were left baffled when some awards were won by actors, actresses and movies they hadn't heard of before the event.
One of the biggest winners being an indie film called 'Anora'.
