Would you pay to own the smallest handbag ever created?
Brooklyn-based brand MSCHf recently announced that they had created a bag that is smaller than a grain of salt and can pass through the eye of a needle.
They also put up the bag for auction at Joopiter, an auction house founded by Pharrell Williams, and it has since sold for a whopping $63,750 (R1.2-million) on the 25th of June.

The brand MSCHF has announced that they have created the tiniest bag in the whole wide world!
The bag is modelled after a classic Louis Vuitton design, the OnTheGo tote, and although they have not asked for permission to use this design, it has not stopped them from creating this microscopic bag.

With the bag measuring only 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers, it's smaller than a grain of salt and you might be wondering what this could possibly be used for?
As it turns out, the bag was created specifically to be sold off at the Just Phriends sale—an upcoming auction from Pharrell Williams’s auction house, Joopiter, on June 19 to June 27.
Kevin Wiesner, MSCHF’s chief creative officer, clarified why they decided to create this bag:
As a once-functional object like a handbag becomes smaller and smaller, its object status becomes steadily more abstracted until it is purely a brand signifier. Previous small leather handbags have still required a hand to carry them—they become dysfunctional, inconveniences to their wearer. Pharrell loves big hats, so we made him an incredibly small bag- Kevin Wiesner (MSCHF’s chief creative officer)
We might not be too excited to own a bag like this ourselves, but we can't wait to see who becomes the lucky owner.
