Shocking job advert leaves people baffled
Updated | By The Drive with Rob and Roz
Is this job listing real or is it just fantasy?
Finding yourself in a situation where you are looking for a job can be stressful. Whether you are leaving a current job that is no longer serving you in any way, or maybe you are looking for your first job, it's tough out there.

When looking for job listings and employment possibilities, you want as little extra stress to be added to the situation.
What could add confusion and uncertainty is when you cannot tell whether or not a job listing is serious or not.

A company recently received some backlash when their advertisement stating that they were looking to hire some new employees was posted on Reddit.
The employer went on to receive a lot of attention, but not for all the right reasons.
The advert, which seems to be making a few jokes, mentions that those over the age of 40 are encouraged to apply and that applicants should "be willing to listen, while you are talking you are not listening. I know this but it's my business, so you must be willing to listen to me and learn, I know everything already".

You can read the full advert below, which caught the original poster so off-guard they couldn't even tell if the ad was a joke or if it was actually legal:

Most people accepted that the advert was also slightly tongue-in-cheek since they are looking to employ someone with a sense of humour.
Others were not impressed and said it seems like a "red flag" if a business chooses to advertise like this.
The company director, Michael Uspensky, has defended the ad:
Ultimately, we're looking for a particular person. I want someone with a sense of humour because in our business, we're doing inspections in tenants' places so we want to get in there, be happy and just treat the tenants with respect and have a bit of a smile and keep it casual. All ads look the same, you've got to look different, and people are sick of being treated like a number. And I've had so many people say 'we applied for this job because of your ad'.- Michael Uspensky (Company director)
This advert might not be to everyone's taste, but, hopefully, the company managed to find their ideal candidate.
