Snake in the suburbs: 5m long snake climbs tree in backyard

Viewers have been captivated by a video that quickly went viral, and it's no surprise as to why.
The video captures a family viewing one of the strangest things we've ever seen.

As the family, cameraperson included, stare on, a carpet snake (aka a carpet python) can be seen slithering its way from the roof of the house into a tree.
The onlookers' comments are almost as entertaining as the snake itself:

According to the Southern Australian Department for Environment and Water, you don't have to be too scared of a carpet python:
Carpet Pythons are semi-arboreal snakes (sometimes spending time in trees) which are non-venomous and popular as pets around the world. They are nocturnal, grow up to three metres long and can weigh up to 5kg.- The Department for Environment and Water
