Some unspoken rules and boundaries need extra clarification.
When it comes to taking care of a baby, there are some very obvious rules that need to be followed, seeing as they can't speak up or fend for themselves.

They need to be fed regularly, they need to be bathed, and they need rest.
One of the perks of being close with your or your spouse's parents, family members or friends after having a baby is that you can more often than not count on them to help you out.
But what you don't expect is leaving your baby with a trusted family member only to find out that they had done something quite inappropriate.

One Reddit user recently posted on the website that someone she had left her baby with casually told her in conversation that she had tried to breastfeed the baby while the mother (the original poster) had popped out for a few hours.
And, obviously, the woman was caught off-guard and completely shocked.
The poster had tried to protect the person in question but later, for clarity, revealed who the person trying to breastfeed was, as well as another detail that made the whole situation even worse.

There is always the possibility of the baby being hungry, the mother not being able to provide food and the mother-in-law or someone else who is producing breastmilk might have to step in. Communal breastfeeding is actually pretty common in some cultures, although there is still a procedure that needs to be followed.
That, however, is very much the exception to the rule, and many agreed that the mother-in-law had no justifiable reason for doing what she did.

Hopefully, the mom was able to set some new ground rules and establish serious boundaries.
