Social media feuds are nothing news.
The ones that do capture the most attention are when famous stars go at it online.

In recent years, however, brand social media pages have been leaning into having a more consistent and entertaining presence.
You have most likely come across some brands joining in on TikTok and meme trends.
They have also been finding themselves in a few online feuds, although they are not full-blown fallout.

It's more like friendly banter.
Two South African brands recently took users on X by surprise when they had a spicy interaction on the platform.
It all started with this innocent post:
Capitec clients can now withdraw cash from any bank's ATM in South Africa at the same fees as they would from a Capitec ATM. pic.twitter.com/L2OSwBDQ54

To which Discovery replied:

At some point we thought voting stations are still open 😭😭
And that is when Capitec entered the chat:
How about you worry about your own issues fam? Creating a WhatsApp group for your clients would be a good start. All 5 of them🤝🫶

They did wrap it up quickly by saying:
We're focused this side. Stay safe💙💙❤️

But it was not just X users who were enjoying this intersection as even Showmax and City Lodge Hotels decided to also insert themselves into the conversation:
Not very demure. Not very mindful. 👀😂 We recommend some space #CheckIntoEasy 😉

At the end of the day, it was just a little bit of friendly competition and it brought a smile to many faces.
