When you think of your favourite bands, you can probably name the lead singer, you know what they look like, and you most likely even follow them on social media.

People tend to forget that the important part of a band is that it consists of much more than just a lead singer.
The bassist, drummer, saxophonist, and whoever else might find themselves on the stage also play an integral role.
Today, however, we are just focusing on some of the best guitarists South Africa has to offer.

Introducing guitarists Martin Schofield from WONDERboom and André Kriel from The Black Cat Bones.
These two joined us in the studio to talk about rock n roll and an exciting new project they have called, 'I'm With The Singer'.
We also put them to the test by having them face-off in a guitar-only stand-off.
‘I’m With The Singer' is the debut release and brainchild of prominent South African guitarist / songwriter Martin Schofield (WONDERboom / Martin Rocka and The Sick Shop). Looking for a creative challenge during COVID lockdowns Schofield formulated the idea of creating and recording new music as an uninhibited, collaborative effort.
The resulting album ‘I’m With The Singer' is an expansive, unfettered panorama featuring a coruscating line-up of iconic South African musicians ranging from SAMA nominated singer and guitarist Sannie Fox, iconic frontman Cito (WONDERboom), Black Cat Bones guitarist / songwriter Andre Kriel, Prime Circle guitarist Dirk Bosschoff, fretboard magician Nic Rush, lapsteel guru Richard Bruyns, Paul Hodgson guitarist for Platinum selling band The Parlotones, SAMA winning musician Jacques Moolman (Shadowclub) to legendary guitar hero Theo Crous (Springbok Nude Girls) and session giant Robin Gallagher.
