'Three Week Blackout' the worst-case scenario, says Eskom
Updated | By The Drive with Rob & Roz
With
the recent spate of loadshedding, many South Africans have been left wondering
if things can get any worse… and the answer is yes.
Loadshedding dropped from Stage 6 over the weekend to Stage 5 for the week, but Eskom is still struggling to maintain stability in the grid.

Whilst Stage 6 loadshedding was a major problem for South Africans, the later stages like Stage 7 and 8 could mean no electricity for 12 hours a day.
Eskom has previously stated that the purpose of loadshedding is to help maintain the stability of the gird and prevent a total blackout.
Eskom has said that there would be no way of preparing for a grid collapse, and the resulting blackout could last weeks in conservative estimates.
