One woman recently shared the touching story of how she befriended someone who wasn't really in her age group.
In fact, he was a few generations older than her.
Aoife Malone posted on TikTok the most heartwarming story you will hear today.
In a carousel of images that you can swipe through, you learn all about how she met Tommy, who was 89 years old at the time.
Malone shares that she had just moved to a small town in Scotland for her studies and started working at a betting shop.

She noticed that Tommy would come to the shop multiple times a day and soon learnt that his wife had died.
Seeing that he might be a bit lonely, she one day asked him if she and her friends could join him for bingo one evening, and he got all dressed for the occasion.
She says "That night at bingo was the start of a beautiful friendship!"

From then on, they would go on outings together, have dinner dates, and even called each other every day during the pandemic.

Many viewers shared how this special story has made them cry and smile, with the video being viewed more than 13-million times.
A few also asked for a Tommy update, and Aoife has since posted a video featuring Tommy, who is now 98 years old.
