VIDEO: David Beckham sparks controversy with daughter
The famous footballer is facing criticism after sharing a recent post featuring his daughter.
Social media users are complaining about a video that shows David Beckham and his daughter, Harper, sharing a sweet moment.

Harper, who is 12 years old, has recently started showing an interest in make-up and David has played the role of supportive dad by letting her practice some of her skills on him.
His daughter is clearly following in his wife's footsteps, who has her own fashion brand, and so ahead of supporting Victoria's fashion show, she helped her dad get ready for Paris Fashion Week:

While many viewers thought that the video showed how "sweet" and "special" the bond between the two is, others had a serious issue with the fact that father and daughter shared a kiss on the lips.
The comments included: "Beautiful daddy daughter bond but a kiss on the lips doesn’t look right. She is a young lady now not a toddler".

There seems to be a major debate over whether or not it's "creepy" or "weird" to kiss your kids on the lips.
Fans of the footballer stood up for him and said that there was nothing strange about it and that he should not be ashamed of their bond: "Don’t be ashamed of kissing your daughter!"

However, this is not the first time Beckham has come under fire for how he interacts with his daughter.
He received some backlash after Victoria posted a picture of father and daughter kissing on the lips in 2020, and later again in 2022.

In 2017, he addressed the "issue" in an interview:
I actually got criticized for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day... I kiss all my kids on the lips. Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up - and Victoria - and it’s how we are with our children. We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them and support them.
Unfortunately for the Beckhams, their lives will always be scrutinised, but that won't stop them from supporting and loving their kids.
