VIDEO: First trailer for Amy Winehouse biopic released

The film 'Back To Black' is set to be released in April 2024.

The last few years have seen the rise of the musician biopic with Elvis Presley, Elton John, and Freddie Mercury being just some of the artists having their life stories portrayed on the silver screen.

Now the trailer for one of the most anticipated biopics has officially dropped.
Fans and critics can now get a first look at 'Back To Black', which follows the short life of the late Amy Winehouse.

The film is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and sees newcomer Marisa Abela star as the British soul singer who rose to fame in 2003 with her debut album, 'Frank'.
While many have criticised the film's production, it has the blessing of the Winehouse estate that is overseen by Amy's father, Mitch.

The film also pays homage to her iconic album of the same name.

The talented singer-songwriter struggled with addiction and press intrusion and, unfortunately, her life was cut short in 2011 at 27-years-old when she died of accidental alcohol poisoning.
