Some smells are truly iconic, like that new car smell. Others might remind you of special moments such as a hug from your parents.
Then you have perfumes such as Chanel No5 or DKNY Be Delicious.
And just like many other things, not everyone likes the same smells.

Those who have been using the same perfume for years might find that it's time for a change.
This also doesn't mean that you have to start using perfumes that you don't like.
It just means that your perfume preferences need an update.
Steven Gavrielatos is a fragrance reviewer who has a deep passion for the world of scents.

Known on social media as @redolessence, he has gained a huge following on TikTok as viewers find his content extremely helpful and interesting.
Steven reviews new perfumes and shares insights into which scents are must-haves and which ones are a waste of money.
In one of his most popular videos, he lists five perfumes that he can no longer recommend.
He starts by explaining that the list is just his way of saying that these perfumes are slightly outdated or overrated.

If you are a woman looking to stand out and be unique, then, in his opinion, these fragrances are not for you.
The list starts with the very popular Exclamation perfume by Coty, which truly evokes the early 2000s.
The perfume was first launched in 1988! Exclamation has definitely had its moment, but if you are a fan of this perfume, it might be time to move on to something similar.
Next is Joy by Jean Patou, one of Steven's favourites. However, he notes that it doesn't smell modern anymore and would just be a waste of money.

The final three perfumes are some of the most iconic fragrances of all time, and while he respects their influence in the market, it is almost boring to choose one of these as your go-to fragrance.
