When you ask parents whether or not they have a favourite child, they will always fight the question and say they do not have any favourites, they love all their children equally.

Some might lie when answering, and every now and then, a very truthful parent will admit they do have one that isn't a favourite, but they might get along better or understand each other better.

If you were to ask the children they are more likely to tell you who their favourite parent is.

But what about grandparents?

In a recent study, it was determined that there is one grandparent that could have more impact on certain relationships with their grandchildren.

It was found that children with adverse childhood experiences showed less negative effects when growing up if the maternal grandmother had offered them support in some way.

Grandparents, like parents, don't tend to pick any favourites.

As mentioned above, there is nothing quite as sobering as the honesty of a child.

A grandmother hoping to meet her excited grandchild at the airport upon her arrival was shocked by what happened when the two finally saw each other.

In a video shared on social media, the unknown granny is excited to walk through the doors to her family waiting.

As she approaches her little grandchild, who seems to be running toward her, the reunion takes a slight turn.

The grandma can be heard saying, "Kan nie wees nie!" (can't be) in utter disbelief, but she doesn't seem to be too heartbroken as she laughs along.
