VIDEO: Lira shares touching message on two-year anniversary of her stroke
On the 19th of April 2022, Lira's team shared the devastating news that the singer was experiencing serious health issues.
It came as a shock to fellow musicians and the public when Lira's team shared the following message on her official social media pages:
Luckily, the singer managed to make her way back to South Africa without any further health issues and was able to undergo treatment for the after-effects of the stroke.

Since then, Lira has been working hard to make sure she is ready for the stage once again.
The iconic South African singer has already been performing in smaller, more intimate gatherings, giving talks at conferences and has even landed a headliner slot at a music festival.
But there is no doubt that suffering from a stroke is a traumatising experience.

On the "anniversary" of her health complications, she decided to share a video on Instagram, in which she celebrates the growth and resilience she has shown over the last few years.
She also wanted to thank everyone who has helped her through this journey:
Lira has clearly proven that there is very little that can keep her down.
