VIDEO: Man reveals that the Springboks don't have the most World Cup trophies
It might be time for a slice of humble pie...
South Africans have been riding on a winning high ever since the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
We've witnessed the Springbok team go from strength to strength and greatness to greatness with every test match they have played in 2024.

They recently defeated their arch rivals, the All Blacks, in Johannesburg and Cape Town, and walked away with another trophy.
Now they can add the Freedom Cup to their continuously growing list of achievements, but the fourth World Cup will always hold a special place in their hearts and ours.
They are now known worldwide as the team with the most World Cup wins.
But it turns out that this might not be true...

An Instagram user has recently gotten a bit of backlash as he pointed out that the Springboks is not the team with the most World Cup trophies.
The man in the video is unknown, but he starts the video strongly by saying, "South Africa doesn't have the most Rugby World Cups".
Before you freak out, he is factually correct.
He says that he is not trying to minimise the Springboks' wins and "it is an amazing achievement from what is a very, very good team".

He does explain that one team has six Rugby World Cup wins, and it makes sense.

Of course, this was a good-spirited video in which he was trying to emphasise that women's sport needs more support and attention.
Some Springbok fans did take to the comment section to defend their team but also kept it tongue in cheek:
- "Let the black ferns play against the springboks then😏".
- "South Africa have 5 world cups actually 1. Francois Pienaar 2. John Smit 3. Siya Kolisi 4. Siya Kolisi 5. Matt Damon."
- "*South Africa have the most Web Ellis Rugby World Cups."
- "Wait, so what you're saying is that in NZ, the women are better than the men at rugby?"
Rivalries aside, the Black Ferns are an incredible and formidable team.
