VIDEO: Mom "feels helpless" in rant about her adult children
Updated | By The Drive with Rob and Roz
The Gen X mother's video has hit home for many parents and children of younger generations.
There is often tension between generations.
Some will compare how they worked or grew up with older or younger generations and disagree with their methods.

These days, it's quite common for misunderstandings or conflicts to occur in working environments because younger generations do not approach situations in the same way as the older generation.
Many millennials and Gen Zers will explain how hard life is for them regarding the cost of living, etc., but older generations only think they are complaining.
Millennials have one-fourth the assets Gen X has & half the savings. They're far poorer than young Gen X & Boomers were

While some might feel this is just an opinion, many sources explain the struggles these younger generations face.

Parents and support structures might not be able to change everything, but it helps when the people in your life try to understand what you are going through.
One mom recently posted a rant on TikTok, talking about how her children are struggling.
Jessica McCabe (@that1crazy72) is a 51-year-old mom living in Alabama, US, with two children, ages 25 and 28.
McCabe starts the video by saying how she feels helpless as a parent. Her kids are grown adults, and she thought they would be fine in this life because of what she taught them.

If you work hard and get a good job, you'll get the things you need in life. It worked for her; why wouldn't it work for them?
That's when she starts to get angry.
She mentions how she sees her children struggling to find their footing in life and even calls out her generation, saying they shouldn't come for her.
Watch the full video as she explains how she is seeing the differences between the struggles of adulthood then and now firsthand:

@that1crazy72 Its no wonder there is a mental health crisis amoung the younger generation..and to make matters worse most cant afford to get treated and if they do they are told to “get a better job” what happened to the middle class just wanting to make w decent living? #housingcrisis #mentalhealth #americandream #rent #longervideos #howtoretire ♬ original sound - That1crazy72
Her video has over 10-million views, but more telling is the amount of comments on the video thanking her for posting the video and speaking up.

Not only are the younger generations sharing and thanking her, but other parents have also commented on the video sharing their concerns for their children.
- beekat: "my parents were making 15 an hour. bought a house. had 3 kids. and we still had a great childhood. I make 65k a year and 1 kid and struggle so bad."
- Jamie: "I’m worried for my son. He’s 16. I moved out and lived on my own as soon as I turned 18. There isn’t any way he’ll be able to."
- Yo Yo Baggins: "Literally cried myself to sleep last night because I cannot keep up. 28 with a master’s degree and was offered $32k for a graduate level position!"
One person suggested that many resonate with: "I wish the older generations would unite to help us all find a way out of the system. I just feel stuck. Forever."
McCabe's video probably won't change anything, but it is comforting to know some people get it.
