VIDEO: SA divided over viral video of flight attendant

While some complimented the cabin crew member on her looks, others felt the attention was a violation of her rights.
Customer service jobs can be very tough.
No matter what is happening in their own lives, these employees have to put a smile on their faces and deal with the complaints of others.

Flight attendants are employees who always seem to be beaming with happiness and are ready to help customers with whatever they need.
Cabin crew have a lot on their plates, but they are always the epitome of pleasantness and composure. One passenger was recently extremely captivated by a flight attendant working on a local SA flight.

Lonwabo Dinge (@lonwabodinge on TikTok) was on a plane when he took a video of one of the flight attendants during the safety demonstration.
He clearly couldn't resist sharing it and posted the video on TikTok. It quickly gained traction and went viral with over 1,5-million views.

While her identity has remained secret, people were very taken with her beauty.
In response to the video, many viewers shared that they knew her name was Zinhle and agreed that "she's so beautiful".
However, others felt that Lonwabo had violated the attendant's right to privacy and that it was inappropriate for him to take and share the video.

Inkanyezi yethongo yo Mbathane said, "And what you did is not allowed. My brother works for them and one time someone tried this and they saw him, uthi they deleted the video from his phone. Even me, I hardly post him."
Briefly News spoke to Nosiphiwo Diniso, a former South African Airways (SAA) cabin crew member, to learn more about passengers invading the crew's privacy while on a flight and what behaviour is appropriate.
It may not seem harmful to take pictures and videos of the cabin crew while they are working, but the POPIA protects us from that, as doing so invades one's privacy and may put the crew member's life at risk. We live in the age of social media. As someone who doesn't have much presence on these platforms, it would bother me to see my pictures and videos trending on different platforms while I was just doing my job.- Nosiphiwo Diniso (Former SAA cabin crew member)
She also mentions a valid point: if you wouldn't walk into any other place of work and film staff, why would a flight and the cabin crew be any different?
