Unfortunately, you can only do so much, and at some point, you have to hope that they live long and happy lives because not everything is in your control.

Drivers have to make sure that they drive safely and responsibly.

One way to ensure road rules are followed is by inserting a black box in the car.

Black boxes are used in aircraft but can also be installed in road vehicles.

Cambridge Dictionary describes a black box as "a piece of equipment placed in a car that records information about how well someone is driving."

Sarah Austin and her husband had installed a black box into their son Charlie's car when he turned 18 and started driving.

As a result, Charlie was driving cautiously and safely. He didn't get into any accidents or get speeding tickets and was always a responsible driver.

Charlie recently turned 21 and while the family were celebrating, his parents gave him a massive birthday card.

While his mom was filming, they asked him to read the card out loud.

Charlie starts reading and is seen jumping with joy when he reads that the black box has been removed from his car.

His parents urge him to continue reading the card, and soon, their sly prank is revealed.

The parents are very chuffed with themselves, seeing as this white lie did exactly what they wanted it to.

Their son had no incidents on the road in the three years he believed the black box was real.

Other viewers agreed that this was "genius level" parenting and another said, "Fantastic parenting!! 3 years safe driving in the bag 👏 👏 👏".
