There are years of preparation that go into hosting the Olympic games, with host cities having to build a lot of infrastructure.
One of the buildings that always generates a lot of excitement is the aquatics centre.
Like all those before them, Paris ensured it gave the athletes participating in watersports the best, most state-of-the-art venue.
The company that undertook this massive challenge was Myrtha Pools, which has been in the industry for over 60 years.

Myrtha Pools is no stranger to these mammoth tasks and as those who have been watching the watersports in Paris can see, they did an incredible job.
In a social media post, they explained more about the design:
It took 36 days to install the stainless steel modular pools, ensuring optimal performance for athletes thanks to dimensional precision and optimal water circulation. The Myrtha installation results in a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional pond construction methods. By the way, 80% of the materials in the pools will be reused after the Games. For the first time, the Myrtha Breathe system will be active during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games! This innovation eliminates volatile disinfection by-products from basin water to achieve cleaner water and better air quality for all.- Myrtha Pools
