Being a tourist in an unfamiliar country can be a lot of fun.

Whether you are travelling abroad alone or with friends and family, meeting new people or interacting with locals only adds to the experience.
But it's not always easy to make friends especially if there's a language barrier.
Tom Trotter is a British fitness coach and content creator.

He has over 600k Instagram followers and is known for his running and cycling videos, which often feature his mom.
Viewers love the pair's bond and how they encourage each other on their runs.
Tom also loves to travel and visited South Africa in 2024.
Like many other tourists, he fell in love with our country and decided to return in the new year.
However, after suffering a spinal injury, he has swapped his running shoes for a bike.

Upon his return, he decided to try to make some biking friends along the way.
South Africa is known for its hospitality and friendly people, but even the most extroverted person will find it difficult to make friends while riding a bike.
Trotter has documented his attempts and it has provided a lot of laughs for his viewers.
