The South African singer also needed some extra assistance during her entrance.

Tyla was seen filming a music video in Johannesburg before hopping back on a plane to the United States to attend the biggest night in fashion, the Met Gala.
The theme for the 2024 event was 'Garden of Time' and actors, athletes, and other famous stars made their way onto the carpet with elaborate looks.

The 'Water' singer seems to have swapped hydration for deserts as she arrived in a custom design by French fashion house Balmain and creative director Olivier Rousteing.
Her dress represented the sands of time and was made of actual sand that was sculpted to fit her body.
The inspiration behind this creation stemmed from a desire to redefine boundaries and transform a transient material into an everlasting masterpiece. The idea of sculpting a garment from something as ephemeral as sand ignited my imagination, and I could not be happier with the end result.- Olivie Rousteing (Balmain Creative Director)

The dress was made from three colours of sand, mixed with micro-crystal studs, and in another nod to the theme she also carried an hourglass clutch.
While the dress was gorgeous and one of the standouts of the evening, it did restrict some of her movements throughout the night.
There are 62 steps in the entrance to the Met Gala and she had to be carried up them:
