Having rules for your home is nothing new.
Homeowners are proud of their homes and want guests to enjoy themselves while respecting the environment.
Many countries are known for their strict house rules, and it can be a serious insult if you do not abide by them.

In some cultures, you are required to remove your shoes before entering a home (which is not a bad idea) and you even have different slippers or shoes for certain parts of the house.
Homeowners also have their own set of rules, like not putting your feet on the couch or washing dishes as soon as you're done with them.

One host has recently gone viral and received some backlash after he shared a video showcasing his house rules.
The video starts with the man saying he asks his houseguests to tip him after their visit and this is why:

While not all of his rules are too ludicrous, viewers had a serious issue with him asking friends to tip him.
The video was even shared with the caption: "If you do this, we are NOT friends".
