But not all in-laws are created equal.
A woman recently shared that she received a text message from her future father-in-law after his son proposed.

She decided to post a screenshot of the message on TikTok and the video has now been viewed 3.7-million times.
Mia Amabile told People that the text message had left her in tears and that it is her "roman empire".

Mia also said that her fiance has a great role model to look up to.
And the response to the video has been just as sweet with people praising Doug (the father-in-law in question) for his beautiful message.

Another said "DOUG IM A PUDDLE😭😭😭" to which Mia responded "😭😭 wish I recorded what he said to me on the phone".
